In Bloom

Everything you will see that day was cut that morning: hibiscus and bougainvillea from the hill behind the house, heliconia and ginger from the garden, frangipani from the tree by the gate.

You are invited

Come be with us

We are getting married above the sea in the parish of Portland, and we would like you there. Two days, one long table, and the people we love most in the world.

Everything you need is on this page: where to be, when to be there, how to get to us, and how to tell us you are coming.

Our Love Story

  1. Ava and Thomas on the cliff
    2019

    2019

    A borrowed umbrella

We met in a downpour outside a bookshop on Harbour Street. He had the umbrella. I had nowhere to be. We stood there until it stopped.

  2. A toast
    2021

    2021

    The first “I love you”

Said far too early, on a balcony in Kingston, by him, and immediately apologised for. He was not sorry. Neither was I.

  3. The proposal
    2025

    2025

    He asked

On the cliff path at Frenchman’s Cove, with the ring in his pocket for nine days waiting for the right evening. It was raining again.

  4. The celebration
    2027

    2027

    And now this

Sixty of our favourite people, a cliff above the sea, and no roof over any of it. Come hungry, and plan to stay late.

On the lawn at the cliff edge. Please leave phones in pockets.

  3. 4:45

    Cocktails & photographs

Wander the gardens. We will steal you for a few frames.

  4. 6:00

    Dinner

One long table, seated and served, and longer than you expect.

  5. 8:00

    Toasts & first dance

Keep them short. We know you won’t.

  6. 11:00

    Last song

A send-off under the lights, and then home.

Getting to us

Travel & Stays

Flying in

Kingston, then the coast road

Norman Manley International (KIN) is about two and a half hours away by car. Montego Bay (MBJ) is longer but often cheaper.

Where to stay

Three we love

We are holding rooms at Geejam and at Trident, and there are villas along San San Bay that suit a group beautifully.

Getting around

Arrange your ride home

The road out to the point winds, so allow more time than the map suggests, and book your car back before the evening starts.

In case you were wondering

Frequently Asked

What should I wear?

Garden formal. Long dresses, linen suits, anything you can move in. We are on grass all evening, so flats and block heels are your friends.

Can I bring a plus one?

If your invitation names two people, then yes, gladly. If it names one, we are keeping it small and we hope you understand.

Are children welcome?

We adore yours. This one is for grown-ups, so treat it as a night off.

Is it indoors or outdoors?

Outdoors, entirely, on grass at the cliff edge. There is cover if the weather turns, but plan for sun and sea wind.

What about gifts?

Your being there is the whole of it. If you would like to give something anyway, we are putting it toward the honeymoon.

When should I reply by?

By the first of March, so we can give the kitchen a real number.

We would love to know
